Seating plan checker: Plan check

Plan check is SeatSpot's built-in review of your seating. It separates contradictions, which are wrong at any time, from loose ends, which only become urgent in the last month, and gives every event a clear verdict: Ready, or a count such as 3 to fix.

How it works

  1. Open the Guest report and tap Plan check, or read the verdict on the event's row on the home screen.
  2. Start with the things to fix: two guests who asked to be apart at one table, overlapping tables, a table standing on an area, or tables outside the room.
  3. Then read what is still to settle, such as guests with no seat, unsent invitations or missing meal answers.
  4. Tap a row to jump to the people or tables it covers, and fix them in place.

Good to know

  • Contradictions always count. Loose ends only count from about 30 days before the event date.
  • A brand-new event shows no verdict, because no problems on an empty plan would mean empty, not ready.
  • Families seated across several tables are mentioned as an observation. Tick Sitting apart is intentional to silence it.
  • Repeated names are flagged for you to look at. Nothing is merged or blocked.
  • When many guests miss the same thing, they arrive as one row with a count, and tapping it opens the guest list with exactly those people ticked.

Common questions

What counts as a problem?

A contradiction in the plan: guests who should be apart sharing a table, tables overlapping, tables or areas outside the room, or fewer seats than guests.

Why does my new event show no verdict?

With no guests and no tables, no problems would mean empty rather than ready, so SeatSpot shows nothing until there is something to check.

Does Plan check change anything by itself?

No. It only reports. Tapping a row shows you who it covers and you choose the fix.
